Privacy Policy

K.R. Mangalam World School, Kundli, Sonipat respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data entrusted to us by students, parents, guardians, staff and visitors. This policy explains what we collect and why, and the choices and rights available to you.

1. Introduction & Scope

This Privacy Policy governs the website krmangalamsonipat.com (the “Website”) and any admission enquiries, forms, newsletters, communication channels and online services offered through it. By using the Website or submitting information to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the practices described here.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only the information reasonably necessary to respond to enquiries, process admissions and operate the school. This may include:

Information you provide directly

  • Admission & enquiry details — the applicant child’s name, class applied for, and the parent or guardian’s name, phone number and email address submitted through our enquiry and “Schedule a Tour” forms.
  • Contact & communication data — details you share when you contact us by form, email, phone or WhatsApp.
  • Newsletter sign-up — the email address or contact details you provide to receive updates and offers.
  • Parent / student portal data — login credentials and records you access or submit through our student and parent dashboard and school ERP.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical & usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and referring URLs, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7).

4. Children’s & Students’ Data

As a school, much of the information we handle relates to children under the age of 18. Under the DPDP Act, we treat such data with heightened care.

  • Enquiry and admission forms are intended to be completed by a parent or legal guardian, not by the child directly.
  • We process a child’s personal data only with verifiable consent of the parent or lawful guardian, or as otherwise permitted by law for the legitimate functioning of the school.
  • We do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children, and we do not knowingly process a child’s data in a manner likely to cause harm.

If you believe a child’s data has been submitted without appropriate parental consent, please contact our Grievance Officer (Section 14) and we will take prompt corrective action.

We use personal data for purposes connected with the school’s operations, including to:

  • Improve the performance and content of our Website.

6. Lawful Basis & Consent

We process personal data on the basis of your consent and, where applicable, for legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act, such as fulfilling a purpose for which you have voluntarily provided your data.

Where we rely on consent, it is sought through clear notice at the point of collection. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us (Section 14). Withdrawal will not affect processing already carried out, and may limit our ability to provide certain services, such as responding to an admission enquiry.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

  • Legal & regulatory — where required to comply with applicable law, a lawful request by a public authority, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our students, staff and school.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes set out in this policy, to maintain lawful academic and administrative records, and to meet legal and regulatory requirements. When data is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymise it.
